What's it like on the
Back o' the Moon

The Woman in the Moon advises that you start your day with a heavenly breakfast…please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs. We always try to serve foods that are homemade, and when in season, grown on one of the local farms. Our eggs are from free-range chickens, we often make our own breakfast cheeses, breads, butter, and jams, and we lay bets that our granola is the best you’ll ever taste. When we serve grits, we serve Hoppin’ John’s…they are the real deal.

Oh, and speaking of the real deal…if you’re a coffee lover you’re in for a real treat.  We serve coffees from our local micro-roastery, “Watergap Coffee Co”, and as true coffee snobs we can testify: Starbucks doesn’t come close.  You’ll see…you’re going to want to take some home with you… and if you give ‘em a “heads up” they’ll roast some for you in time for you to pick it up on your way home. Doesn’t get much better than that, now, does it?

What’s it like to spend a night on the Back o’ the Moon?
From Luna Verde (Green Moon) watch the horses graze, pick out fawns from the patches of sun, gaze into the fireplace…anyone who has slept in Luna Verde when the moon is full, say that  the room is filled with green light that turns to a honey-gold in the morning.  Count fireflies from Luna Verde.

From Media Luna (Half Moon) listen to the coyote chorus, sit on the deck and marvel at the night sky, see the moonlight fall through the trees in the early morning hours…anyone who has slept in Media Luna says that they hit the pillow and left for the stars until morning. Catch the meteor showers from Media Luna.

Down at the paddocks- sun’s up!

The woods belong to the morning on the Back o’ the Moon, and the morning belongs to us.

The barn host. “Mr. P”, announces your arrival to the rest of the herd.
